This space has laid dormant for a long time. I like writing, but never really had any purpose for doing so; my life is not exciting enough (nor am I narcissistic enough) to write about, and I never really felt all that motivated.

However, at A’s suggestion, I think I’ve decided what to write about. I think I’m going to write about music. I’m not sure my opinion matters, but at the very least, I’ll keep myself busy (and hopefully keep my writing abilities sharp!).

Update tomorrow morning, perhaps?

Francis Is My Familiar

I’ve decided to bring a different tone to the blog, one that focuses less on the boring minutae of my day, and sticks with something I’m good at: talking about things I dislike.

Here’s a video that I feel really sums why Francis from the zombie-horror-survival game “Left 4 Dead” is my soul mate:

He hates almost as many things as I do! Also, he has awesome tattoos, and I want awesome tattoos.

So basically, Gettysburg is the absolute worst right now. It’s like it’s trying to test me, see how close to the edge it can push me before I go bananas and just level the whole town. It makes me feel inadequate academically, outcasts me from communities I’m in, gives me ADHD, creates awful and awkward situations with people I’d rather not interact with at all, drives me to drink, and above all, rains. On me. All the time. Needless to say, I am more ready for the summer than I ever have been in my entire life.

But I can’t quit; that’s like letting this place win. So fuck you, Gettysburg. I’m not going anywhere.

First!

So, I decided maybe I would update for the first time ever, and maybe blog about my lame-ass life. I do not expect this to continue for long.

So, this past weekend was Easter Break; Peter and Dave came home with me. Dave left the next day, but Peter stayed with me over the whole break.

I partied every night over break, which was pretty fun. Thursday, Peter and Dave managed to find some Sigma Chi brothers to party with at WCSU, and I drove them there and hung out. The guys were very blue-collar, but nice guys, despite how seemingly incongruous they were with my own friends.

Friday was pretty good too, dropped Dave off at his friend’s dorm at WCSU, and then peter and I got haircuts and went to NYC to party with one of his friends. It really made me realize how much Gettysburg has changed the way I think about and behave at parties. Gettysburg parties are very goal-driven for me: A hookup, drunken escapade, or general adventure is usually established at the beginning of the night, and then I go for it. At NYU, it’s a much less intense process. Very natural and flowing, involving little-to-no planning, and a great deal more intelligent conversation. Still had no trouble having fun (to say the least), but it did take me some time to adapt.

Saturday night, met up with Matt at my house, then took Peter to a party in Bethel; was pretty cool too. Saw some people from high school I never thought I’d see ever again, but on the whole, a positive experience. Played the single worst game of Beer Pong in my entire life; lasted forever, never finished.

I’m sure I could post more, but this seems way too much like mental masturbation to be anything other than silly to me. We’ll see if I keep it up.
